HULPPROJECT SLOVAKIA

Since July 26, 2007, we have been a charity foundation that met all legal requirements such as the ANBI Act that was in force in The Netherlands. However, since the ‘marriage’ between Ohekwuru Lovecares Foundation and ‘Hulpproject Slowakije’ (project podpora Slovensko), the foundation now has been changed to ‘Hope for the Youth Internationally’.

‘Hope for the youth Internationally’ wants to help children who have little or no chance to live a life worth living. Our support is aimed at Roma children in Slovakia who are struggling with poverty, discrimination, sickness, illiteracy etcetera. We give children the opportunity to live a life free from poverty and whilst working towards that goal we preach the gospel so that they can also live a life with God. Two-thirds of the Roma people have no education nor work, and consequently no income to live on.  It is therefore no surprise to see that most of the Roma population live below the poverty line, under very bad conditions. This is where the foundation comes in, as we want to take care of these children and guide them to a better future. Hope for the youth Internally (Hulpproject Slowakia) helps improve their living standards, but this impact is also felt by the parents and caretakers of the children. We especially focus on children that have no parents or camp with a handicap. 

 The Foundation aids by investing in healthcare, upbringing, education and providing jobs for them, which is essential for the children to build a self-sufficient life later. We also preach the gospel, teach the children how to pray & read from the Bible. However, a good education and training takes time and money. This especially is the case for children with a background of extreme poverty and hardship. The work we are doing is thus an investment in the future generation of Romas, and it will take years of dedication, time, money and support to give them the future they deserve. An investment we are willing to facilitate but impossibly can make on our own.  Because we cannot do this work all by ourselves, we would love for your support through sponsorship by means of donations or gifts and voluntary work on the ground of course! 

 
It may not be easy for you to choose between the many sponsor requests out there nowadays, but most of the work we do is done by ourselves with the help of friends. We take clothes and other useful goods as often as we can to the Roma in Slovakia. We do not receive government subsidies because Slovakia is part of the EU, even though governments are well aware of the inhumane circumstances the Roma are forced to live under but however seem to choose to look the other way. This makes us fully dependent on good hearted people for whatever donation they give the foundation. We hope that you will also support this beautiful project and help change the future of these children.
